Securitisation & Covered Bonds 2010

7 - 8 October

3RD Annual Opportunities in the Italian funding market: Securitisation & Covered bonds 2010

After the resounding success of the two previous editions, which saw the participation of over 400 delegates from banks and international players, ABI and AFME (Association for Financial Markets in Europe) build on their achievement by returning to the important topics of securitisation and covered bonds, in Europe and in the Italian market.

The recent global financial crisis has given rise to in-depth reflection and to a widespread request to review regulations and control processes. The impact of these reforms is now under observation and there are reservations as to whether this is the right direction or whether more (or different) incisiveness is needed from Italian and European regulators. At the same time, the market, at a standstill for many months, is starting to show signs of a recovery and everyone is wondering what type of scenarios we can expect in the immediate future and further along the line.

The Conference on October 7 and 8 will seek to respond to all of these questions, from a European perspective, as well as with special focus on the Italian market. The leading Italian and European regulators will be in attendance, as well as the major Italian banks, international players, law firms, service providers and audit and advisory companies.

Of the key topics, the following will be examined in depth:
¿ the different funding options available to lenders in Europe
¿ the industry’s latest initiatives to promote loans to business customers and SMEs
¿ the legal and regulatory reforms in Europe and the way in which they are changing the Italian securitisation and covered bond market
¿ supporting mortgage loans: a comparison between programmes in the Eurosystem and those of national governments
¿ the impact of industrial initiatives to rekindle the confidence of the securitisation market
¿ the long-term sustainability of the Italian mortgage market
