CONFERENCE SUMMARY

The current financial environment has clearly exposed the need, with respect to banks and companies, to adopt more structured risk management systems than in past years. Therefore, due to the current economic situation, we have decided to organize in 2010 the first international Conference promoted by the DIPO Association, which has been operating since 2003 as a national consortium for information on losses suffered by Italian banks. The event, which is mainly addressed to all risk management operators, focuses on the importance of managing, using and processing external data to identify, assess and mitigate operational risk. The Conference aims to promote Operational Risk Management and favors networking between different international consortia in order to share experiences and information and develop a method for collecting and exchanging information which would allow more effective operational risk management.
The Conference was held over a day and a half and was organized in plenary and parallel session. In 2010 edition was organized an Award Session entitled "Decisions where ORM made the difference", in this Session were invited ORM team and financial institutions.
