ABI, immigrants: 6 out of 10 choose their bank by word of mouth
The key factors for establishing relations with a bank are proximity, customer relations, economic conditions, and flexibility. Payment services are the most popular (47%), followed by liquidity management (36%), loans (14%), and investment services (1%). Approximately 80% use ATM cards, 10% use home banking services, and 27% take out mortgages and personal loans. The fourth Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility will open in Rome on 27 and 28 January. Financial inclusion will be in the foreground. Accounting, certification, environmental and energy issues will also be main topics of discussion.

The sacred and the profane. 17th Century Masterpieces in the collections of Italian banks
The art exhibition will be one of the main cultural events of the year 2009 in Luxemburg. It will be launched by the President of the Italian Republic and the Grand Duke of Luxemburg on 4 February 2009. The exhibition, the only one of its kind, will be open to the public in Luxemburg from 6 February to 17 May 2009 at the prestigious Musée national d’histoire et d’art.

Justice: ABI and the Ministry of Justice, “on-line” civil trials because of new software
Faster and more definitive timeframes for pleadings and judicial proceedings with the On-line Civil Trial software (Processo Civile Telematico). The software was created and tested in mid-December, with the aim of digitalizing paper documents and legal notices. By 2009, it will be implemented in 14 “test” courts of law.
