Italian banks have accompanied investors's changing needs when it comes to managing their savings by offering more sophisticated services through their evolving portfolio of asset management products.
In addition, Italian banks have set up one of the most important in the worls networks of financial assets totalled 3,1 trillion euros at the end -2004; 736,636 billion came from deposits, 1,202,202 from assets under custody and 950,793 from managed savings.
Mutual funds made up 36,1% of asset under management, while personal managed accounts generated 27,8% of the total. The remaing 32,9% and 3,2% were made up of life insurance policies and pension funds respectively.
